How do we keep our prices affordable you ask ?
It's simple, we don't offer sight tests and have non of the associated costs of an optician.
We also own the premises (laboratory premises and boutique store) that we trade from in Ilkeston.
Trading for over 30 years and in Ilkeston for 20 years (est 2003) we have accumulated many contacts and authorised accounts from which to buy our products at low prices, keeping our costs low and so ultimately saving you money with our affordable pricing to you.
We don't work for nothing, we have to make a profit, and sometimes the internet is able to offer a simple lower prices for some of our products, but they don't and can't offer all that we offer. We offer a great happy medium and value for money, with service, fitting, free measurements and guarantee. We are here face to face for you at all times to ongoingly oversee and service your prescription eyewear.
After all, trying your glasses on first before you buy them takes away the guessing and makes your life easier from the start.
We offer qualified staff and lab technicians onsite to help you and guide you if necessary through the glasses buying process. We are told we take the time to explain in understandable language, exactly what you need to know when making choices and decisions on what you'll want or need when buying glasses from us.
We are experts in supplying prescription glasses lenses from basic low cost to high end branded lenses. All our lenses are highly competitive and affordable when comparing like for like products offered elsewhere. We supply ultra thin lenses, stronger prescriptions and all lens coatings too including blue block coatings, anti glare coatings and tints.
We have dispensers who are experts on glasses frames, frame materials best for comfort and durability, hypo allergenic (non skin reacting glasses frames) and of course suitable sizing and the fit of your glasses.
Consultations. We offer with all our designer glasses a consultation instore which is booked online in advance. We feel a consultation is essential when buying designer glasses because these are a little more expensive and it's important for you and us to get just the right most suitable glasses first time. We alot a free shop for you without interruption, giving you time to make the right choice. Our consultation fee is redeemable so ultimately free.

Reglazes.
We offer a full reglaze service putting new prescription lenses into your existing glasses frames.
Reframes.
We replace broken frames fitting your lenses to new frames while you wait.
1 hour service on single vision lenses or pre ordered varifocals and coatings (must be ordered in advance with us online)
So how do I get my eye test to bring to you ?
A copy of your sight test must be given to you by law after your opticians eye examination. A clear and readable copy must be given to you under the rules called "the opticians act"
This has been the case since the early 1980's
Simply ask for a copy after your eye test if the optician doesn't automatically offer it to you. Remember not to leave without it on the day because he must be there to sign it at a later point and it could inconvenience you if you return and he is not there at that time.
Generally speaking we find that many of the chain opticians automatically offer it
Vision Express opticians/ Boots opticians/ Scrivens opticians/ David Clulow opticians/ Specsavers opticians etc, although all opticians and independent opticians must give you a copy of the eye test results after your sight test.
