What Do Glasses Measurements Mean?

Most frames include three numbers:

  • Eye size (lens width)

  • Bridge width (distance between lenses)

  • Arm length (side length)

Example: 52–18–140 is average

How to Measure Your Glasses

You can:

  • Check your current frames

  • Measure lens width and bridge

  • Use a ruler for approximate sizing

Choosing the Right Size

For larger faces:

  • Look for wider frames

  • Larger lens sizes (55+)

  • Longer arms

For smaller faces:

  • Narrow frames

  • Smaller lenses (under 50)

  • Shorter arms

Why Size Matters

Poorly fitting glasses can:

  • Slip down your nose

  • Cause discomfort

  • Affect vision alignment

  • Look unbalanced
