Quotes & Estimates for Glasses and Prescription Lenses
Why We Don't Give One-Price-Fits-All Quotes

It is not always possible to provide an accurate price for glasses or prescription lenses without first understanding your prescription, frame, lens requirements and exactly what you need.
Prescription glasses and lenses are bespoke products, and the final price can vary depending on several factors, including:
-
Your prescription
-
Lens thickness
-
Lens coatings
-
Frame and lens compatibility
-
Your individual visual and lifestyle requirements.
For this reason, we prefer to assess your requirements properly and give you clear options and an accurate, cost-effective price, rather than simply offering a one-price-fits-all package.
Why Your Prescription and Frame Choice Can Affect the Price
The size and shape of your frames can have a significant effect on the thickness, weight and appearance of your finished lenses.
Large or Wide Glasses Frames
Very wide or large frames can result in thicker lenses, even with a standard or average prescription. Depending on your prescription and pupil position, a higher-index or thinned lens may be recommended to help keep the lenses slimmer and lighter.
The larger the frame, the more important lens choice can become.
We will explain your options and help you choose the most suitable solution without automatically recommending the most expensive lens.
Small Glasses Frames
Small frames can sometimes offer the opposite advantage.
Even with a stronger prescription, a high-index lens may not always be necessary. Where the frame allows, we may be able to use a small lens blank and optimise the lens thickness, potentially providing a more cost-effective alternative.
This is one reason why the price of prescription lenses can vary considerably between different opticians and different frame choices.
Lens Materials, Thickness & Coatings
There are several types of prescription lenses available, including standard, aspheric, high-index and thinned lenses.
Lens coatings can also vary in both quality and price. Depending on your requirements, you may wish to consider options such as anti-glare coatings and other lens treatments.
We will explain the available choices and help you decide which combination provides the right balance of vision, comfort, appearance, durability and price.
Our Advice Is Based on Your Individual Requirements
Don't worry if all the lens choices seem confusing.
We are experienced in helping customers choose the most suitable combination of frames, prescription lenses, materials and coatings.
Once we have assessed your prescription and the suitability of your chosen or existing frames, we can recommend the options that meet your requirements and provide the best value without compromising on quality.
We don't believe in simply selling the most expensive lens.
We believe in finding the right lens for you at a fair and cost-effective price.
